News / Info - Sounds From The Void (#1)

Image
Costa Rica's one-man project, AURA LUNAR has recently unleashed debut full-length entitled "Sirius Sphere". The full-length contains 8 tracks of Dark Space Ambient/Drone, inspired by the brightest star in the night sky. "Sounds from beyond where feelings are transmitted, under the reflection of the moon, the darkness of the soul and melancholy, scorching the nights next to the night stars, the sad loneliness reflects the withered, The time of life is lost in the universe, where solitude itself knows the eternal path to that emptiness." http://auralunar.bandcamp.com http://facebook.com/auralunarcosmic Based in Rancagua - Chile, HUMANFOBIA is Dark Experimental / Haunted House / VaporGoth / Horror Synth duo active since 2011, consisting of Sábila Orbe (sound mixer and male vocals) and Mist Spectra (lead female vocals). Their music mix different genres like dark ambient, noise, witch house, sound collage, vaporwave, glitch, post-industrial & more. All their work

Review - Mig Inc - le venin

Image
Mig Inc - le venin It has been an honor to have such a good work on my netlabel, Distorted Re-chords. This is Mig Inc, an Electronic Noise artist from Bordeaux, France and has been in the scene since 2007. "le venin" is a single track lasting 42:04 minutes, a truly longform composition full of diverse ideas, distinctive nuances, crammed with industrial, experimental and improvisational elements. As the meaning behind the title, "le venin" is a venomous stuff that will lead you delusional, hypnotic and addicted. Of all, this is idiosyncratic and extraordinary! Review - Carbonized Organs - Vulgar Nekrophile

Image
Carbonized Organs - Vulgar Nekrophile Total gore and infinite bleeding! Carbonized Organs is a hell of murderous noise mass-creation and this one hails from Querétaro, Mexico. The 4 tracks demo/ep "Vulgar Nekrophile" is a release that always makes you restless, uncontrollable fear, and everything in a state of infinite horror. It's over 18 minutes of Splatter Harsh Noise / Necrotic Power Electronics with themes about morgue, post-mortem, necrophiliac, morbid rapes, humiliation, profanation and the likes. Each track has started off and ended up with samples (you can consider it as intro & outro in each track) so that has more clearly described the narration and messages in the featured tracks. Formed and performed by Antonio Gore Profanator, Carbonized Organs never ever has sympathy and compromise in his works, all are definitely disgusting, sadistic, and putrefied! Review - Nauzea Negra - Dual Disorder

Image
Nauzea Negra - Dual Disorder Intense, extreme and forceful. These are the first three words that have crossed my mind when listening to "Dual Disorder" by Nauzea Negra. Four tracks, forty minutes of harshly walling noises from a project based in Mexico City. Overall what I could hear and experience was; energetic and cohesive textures, ultra loud in sound, assertively in-your-face HNW. Listen to this "Dual Disorder" over and over again, afterall you will find it is a strong album with uncompromising noise! (Review by Atandistorted) Nauzea Negra - Dual Disorder by DRC:0011

Review - Netherworlds - The End Times

Image
Netherworlds - The End Times The project reportedly began quietly in 2021 and 2022, then rested throughout 2023 before returning to active and more productive in 2024. FNJ (the personnel behind this project) is said to want to bring Netherworlds out of its cocoon and introduce its works to the scene. "The End Times" (Demo 2024) is the third demo from this Malaysian noisemonger. 29:44 minutes (total duration for the 4 featured tracks) of Harsh Noise / Harsh Noise Wall which is really solid, packed with elements of brutality and without mercy. This demo expresses the catastrophic theme / message, the world at the end of time and how humanity and the world will be destroyed at the end of the earth's life. Greatly heavy and crazy! Review - Consilium Lupum - I Midvinternattens Skugga

Image
Consilium Lupum - I Midvinternattens Skugga I never knew about the existence of Consilium Lupum until Satanic Tony (who I usually know through Wintercold) sent "I Midvinternattens Skugga" to be released on Distorted Re-chords. I was even a little surprised because this is the third album of the project. This full-length has a duration of almost 26 minutes, lining up 10 tracks of dark ambient / medieval / dark dungeon synth. I feel very comfortable with the whole "I Midvinternattens Skugga" (in english it means "In the Shadow of Midwinter Night"). Works that sound so epic, very majestic musical arrangements with a wealth of ideas and melodic variations. Some songs sound in different tones and nuances, so you won't hear the same thing on all tracks. This is entirely intelligent and brilliant. News / Info - UNDIRHEIMAR "Ginnungagaldr"

Image
UNDIRHEIMAR "Ginnungagaldr" New opus from the ever enigmatic ritual act Undirheimar. Ginnungagaldr is the result of over 3 years of contemplative, ritual and shamanic based work centered on the uncreated primordial nothingness of pre-creational chaos. Not inspired by the lore, but through personal experience, which, in fact, differs in certain aspects from the already established and published work. There is not one unique path. There are countless streams flowing toward the vast black ocean, the source. Just as there are a multitude of ways to experience those paths. Undirheimar always had its own unique method of working which is at the root of its Thursian sonic work. This offering of sounds and vibrations is an attempt at crafting an audio talisman. It is no easy endeavour to transmute visions, sounds and deeply felt impressions into something one can "listen to". Some of those visions have been made into bindrunes and sigils whose intrinsic meaning is partiall

News / Info - FALLEN SUN

Image
"Fallen Sun, the noise/industrial moniker of Reverse Image from Malaysia, approaches the creation of noise music through the layering of sonic textures aligned with a sense of space and movement. Using Harsh Noise Wall as distant inspiration, she takes the seed of an idea and expands and contracts it, before further compressing and then twisting it, layer upon layer, until the idea has morphed into itself. Beyond the Flat Earth 's ten concise tracks explore this perpetual movement of noise, each with its own spine, the total auditory fabric of the music presents a gothic beauty to submerse oneself" - by Richard Allan Bates "Reverse Image also released the debut The Silence That Does Not Exist CD in mid-2023. Also electronics-orientated, it is a comparatively muted affair next to its Fallen Sun cousin but there are similarities in the fact that the sounds deployed are often frazzled, abstract, complex and restless. Where Reverse Image assume stealth as a crackle and

News / Info - CONFLAGRATION CHAMBER "The Maldoror Sounds In Three Acts"

Image
CONFLAGRATION CHAMBER "The Maldoror Sounds In Three Acts" From the timeless mists of underground obscurity, the new entity Conflagration Chamber emerges. Pitch-black Post Mortem elixir from the cold and unholy Russia, featuring members of Ulvdalir, Horthodox and Womb11. Any true fan will immediately acknowledge the intense old school feel of the Material presented on this high Profile debut full-length. It is definitely Power Electronics in its purest form, but there are distinct traces of Death Industrial sickness to be found in the vitriolic compositions. Tortured, brutish Vocals like a thunderstorm of decadence poetry echoing from the dismal industrial labyrinths of imperial factories. Conflagration Chamber is a true beast that presents some of the most ambitious and raw recordings of our day and age. No trend, no compromise, just the somber eminence of Eastern and Post Mortem Power Electronics fanaticism. DUNKELHEIT PRODUKTIONEN http://dunkelheit-produktionen.de http://du

Poem - I Shall Miss Quintessa

Image
I SHALL MISS QUINTESSA I shall miss the silence the space And the stares that are worlds apart Onto which these stains of all strife And all life they depart for the dark But never too engraved these sins much Denied and all griefs so imbibed And for places to where these steps I would take for the sake of the sane... I shall miss those sirens of sadness That bellowed in all scenes so undone For white lies and dark sighs it is time now For the world to welcome me back From this altar for pain to departed red roses Of hope that had bloomed once again For this I unto me as I carve once again, this Glorious path to heavens amidst all lost smiles... And to this end of all misery I now stand At the threshold of more bright white faces! Of things left unsaid for when the last I set out For darkness within and without for within thus remained... And so now I shall miss this unruly Hubris; this darling wrecked Quintessa For the spirits they had lurched from the void And then straight to the da

Interview - DEATH APPEAL

Image
Death Industrial from Melbourne, Australia. Formed by L.M. who is also in bands such as Contaminated and Derailment, DEATH APPEAL has recently unleashed debut album entitled "Precipice", officially on September 12, 2024. FNJ has spoken with L.M. for more details. Interview by FNJ (Netherworlds) [01] Hello dude. Here's an interview by Hidden Sounds - a blog/zine based in Malaysia. Please introduce more about yourself. L.M.: Hello! L.M. here, sole member of DEATH APPEAL. Thank you for providing a space for me to spin some bullshit. I am dumbfounded that you've even found DEATH APPEAL, since it is a new project with absolutely zero promotion! I also currently play in CONTAMINATED (dark death metal), G.B.S. (goregrind/noisecore) and DERAILMENT (sludge, but with tinges of industrial and death metal). [02] When did you first know about Death Industrial, and what sort of bands / artists that hugely influenced you to explore this genre? L.M.: A long time ago, probably 15 ye

Interview - SAISHŌ 最小

Image
« Manifesto for a revolutionary sleep » That evening (it was raining heavily outside), I randomly browsed bandcamp.com looking for something that sounded relaxing and soothing. Thankfully, I found myself with this one, which hails from Bordeaux, France. It is Saishō 最小 - a really cool project with several releases and musical styles that are mesmerizing and full of tranquility - "lofi synth minimalism" as written. There is quite a lot I want to know about it. For that, here is the Q/A session with Gabriel Berteaud. Interview by Jiwa [01] Tell us the history and background of Saishō? Gabriel Berteaud: I released my first album « contre le travail » (against work) in March 2023. Therefore, Saishō 最小 doesn't yet have a long history. Creating this album took me about a year, and I have to go back another year to give this project time to mature in my body. This album may not deserve to be called an album. It includes 67 tracks for a total duration of 35 hours. In France, thi

Interview - SMIXX

Image
Pay your attention and salute to SMIXX, one of the production / record labels in the depth of Malaysian underground. This label stays true with do-it-yourself ethics and pure underground philosophies. SMIXX has rejected discrimination in music, has opened wide opportunities for diversity of genres. We at Hidden Sounds are proud to have a brief chat with the owner, Adary Dino. Interview by Jiwa [01] Hail and salute to Adary Dino. Apa khabar? Mind you share something about yourself and life? Adary Dino: Hail and Salute. Good. There nothing interesting about me, just living simple life. [02] Tell us everything about the history and background of SMIXX? Adary Dino: The history about SMIXX officially started on July 2020. More likely to released new band or music, genre that never released in physical or by other label. [03] What exactly encouraged you to form this label?  Adary Dino: Yunus MTD. And I learn from him and Cikgu Wan (Gedebe Rekodz). [04] It has been undeniable that SMIXX i

Interview - RDKPL

Image
"strange sounds within imaginable limits electronic noises in the audible spectrum"  RDKPL is in fact not new in this scene. The Czechia's noisemaker has existed in the sounds and noises industries since mid-1994. Yes, it's been 30 years - 3 decades of free-style / experimental electronic noiseounds! I'm honestly at a loss for words reflecting on how great RDKPL has been exploring and colonizing this scene through his works, for all this time and it continues non-stop! In his busy schedule, Radek Kopel is still willing to spare time for the following interview. Interview by Jiwa [01] Hey mate! Here's a simple interview but we truly need your great answers. First of all, introduce yourself. Radek Kopel: Hi Jiwa and readers! Radek Kopel from Czech republic - noisounds maker. [02] What made you dig Noise sound arts / scene? It seems that you have been in this industry for so long, please share your experience. Radek Kopel: I look for aggressive, raw, intense, e

Interview - MASS GRAVEN IMAGE

Image
Based in Austin, Texas - MASS GRAVEN IMAGE is undeniably the best interpreter of the term “violence in stereo”. Formed by Yeshua Gadriel, Mass Graven Image has produced countless tracks and albums in both digital and physical formats - and all of them are without a doubt, at the top of most Death Industrial / Dark Ambient / Industrial Noise releases. This project has greatly progressed and evolved, not only productive and quantitative but also what is very important is in the qualitative aspect. Heavy world views, brought out and exorcised through the vehicle of sound and artistic creative works of Yeshua Gadriel. Interview by Jiwa [01] Hello Yeshua Gadriel. What’s up today? First of all, can you share something about yourself, and how you became interested in experimental music; ambient, noise, industrial, etc? Yeshua Gadriel: What first got me into experimental music was electronic music, specifically groups like Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, and different types of IDM. However, I’v

Interview - TORTURING NURSE

Image
Extreme Harsh Nihilistic Noise! That's what you get from China's Shanghai-based TORTURING NURSE. When I started contacting some artists to be interviewed in THE EFX-FILES (Experimental / Electronic Music Journal), Torturing Nurse was the first to respond and answered the interview questions quickly. Torturing Nurse has released hundreds of albums, splits and compilation appearances. I believe this is a really superb project with its own strength and certainly a name known to many in the world's Harsh Noise scene. Here we are with Junjun Cao a.k.a Junky Chaos. Interview by Atandistorted (The EFX-Files) [01] Greetings Junjun Cao. It's really interesting to know how Harsh Noise has started to enter and spread in China, can you tell us about it? And then how did you become passionate about genres like this and get the inspiration to establish Torturing Nurse?    Junky Chaos: Around 2000, I bought a disc, a Japanese no wave and noise compilation: "Taste Of Wild West 3&
